About Me

The λ♥[love] Blog is a collection of thoughts and ideas on how to make the world a better place. If my blog stirs you in some way then I have accomplished my mission.

λ♥[love] is a Lambda Calculus expression that means “give me your heart, and I’ll give you love in return.” The title was inspired by a linguistic love song by the same name, authored by Christine Collins.

That’s what my blog is about. Here’s a little blurb about the main author.

I am an eccentric Cuban American, raised in Miami Florida. Some of my core business values:

  • Making money should be a consequence of other aims, rather than the aim itself;
  • The journey is as important (or more) than the destination;
  • I believe everybody has the core tools necessary to overcome any challenge in life; and
  • Happiness must come from within; if you cannot be happy from within, you can never ultimately be happy.

I’m a programmer and entrepreneur by trade. In my career I’ve worked in Puerto Rico, Washington DC, New York City, Den Haag Netherlands, London England, and most recently, Miami. This has given me perspective from all sorts of cultures and value systems. I’ve written programs for consumption on the desktop, over the web, and on mobile devices. And in all I do, I always strive to do excellent work. Because eventually someone will use the programs I write. I want them to be happy when they use them.

I currently reside in South Florida. I’m enjoying the great weather and culture. I firmly believe South Florida is fertile tech ground, unspoiled. There are big markets down here, mostly in tourism, finance and real estate. I hope to import some of the best approaches to software development to South Florida. The future is as wide open as ever. I keep learning. I keep growing.
